As corny as the whole "red pill" metaphor is, that's really the best and only way to describe the phenomena of learning this philosophy.

After a few months of membership here, it's seriously like I tapped into the machine that runs our social interactions, and can now read and understand the code that controls it all.

It's surreal, it's awesome, and my life is so much goddamn better now because of it.

Happy 2014, brothers.

It is a little shocking when you can sit at the bat and start calling plays like John Madden. This skill set definatly makes people watching more fun.

We're the boggieman of Reddit, and I like that infamy

There is something extremely satisfying about being happy and successful while other people hate you for it

Compare and contrast with /r/mensrights - they're still trying to be a "real movement," and that means letting our feminized society keep a firm hand on their balls.

All the time I spent posting there, I kept hearing over and over again, "don't say that, that's why Reddit hates us! They'll think we're misogynists, oh no!" As if the opinions of sheep were a legitimate reason to refuse to speak the truth.

Embracing true masculinity requires one to recognize that society will hate you for having a dick and testosterone, and refusing to allow that to get in your way of your journey to manhood.

And something surprising happens when you do that: you start to learn that even as loathed as masculinity is, if you can really have it, you just might find yourself at the top of the food chain.

To be fair, though, MR is a socio-political movement, trying to change society for the better, and so they actually do need to be concerned with social approval. TRP is all about taking advantage of things at a purely individual level, and so we don't need to give a fuck.

Every time we're talked about in a major thread we have a huge influx of members, and I find that pretty satisfying. Those who spend the time to figure out what this place is really about see through the negative light surrounding it.

We must be on to something.

Nobody starts witchhunts over people simply being wrong. Even /r/niggers didn't have people wringing their hands and worrying if those posters might be around.

Yes! Been waiting for a post like this. And thanks especially for addressing the 'Alpha / Beta' nonsense. I admit, I've slipped into using the terms as descriptors of people rather than behavioral traits - hard not to when it's the general parlance - but I'll be very happy if we can get back to the more scientific uses of the terms.

This sub could have been overwhelmed by the brigading BP'ers and huge influx of new members, but it hasn't been; and I know that's thanks to you SoftHarem, RedPillSchool, and the rest of the mod team. I'd like to thank you, because this place is the most important part of the internet, for me. Keep it up, gentlemen. I'm beyond excited about what 2014 has in store for this community.

The Alpha\Beta stuff does get old sometimes. You truly want to do something because it makes your life better and makes you happy- it's an Alpha move. Doing what you don't want to (or what hurts you) because someone else says so, it will cause a fight, I don't want to deal with this- it's Beta.

That being said it's easy to convince yourself you want something because it's easy or you want to avoid conflict. Want what you want- not what others think you should want.

Determining this can be easier said then done sometimes. It all depends on your time preference, i.e. long or short term goals. Backing down from a fight may be the thing to do if it meant avoiding the criminal charges that would cause you to not get the 7 figure job and the Lambo and subsequent buffet of vagina from said Lambo.

I wish I remember who it was, but some guy made a post about how he was sick of girls trampling all over him. He told a story of how he studied up on RP theory and put it to play (after using RP strategies he fucked two girls in one week) thinking it was some kind of "get laid quick" scheme I put it into a file in the corner of my memory. One day I was bored and looked it up, everything in here is mindblowingly true.

While I'm still on my journey, I notice that people pay me a lot more respect when I stick up for myself in situations where I previously would have backed down. Seriously, this shit changes you for the better.

If I may add:

New members; You probably heard about us from somewhere else on reddit. If you did, you almost certainly saw us cast in a shitty light, calling us rapists and neck beard fags. Fuck damn we were unofficially voted the 2nd worst sub on this web site.

Men don't like us because our theories greatly differ from what they have been taught their whole lives. Women don't like us because they refuse to believe their behavior in their 20s will haunt them in their 30s (and a variety of other reasons). It hits them close to home, so close it motivates them to actually take time out of their days to lash out against us, hence the blue pill sub.

Keep in mind that this is a fairly bullshit free zone. If you ask something or present a theory, you will receive realistic answers and constructive criticism; and sometimes the truth hurts. The vast majority of people don't like hearing the truth, and instead focus on what they want to hear. That's why most of what is upvoted on reddit nowadays tends to fall in line with the modern liberal agenda.

FORM YOUR OWN FUCKING OPINION

If you are interested in the theory, read some sidebar material. If you disagree with what is written, that is absolutely fine. You are always welcome on the sub as long as you keep your comments rational and conversational.

If you like what you read, lurk for a few week. If you have questions, head over to r/asktrp; people are always glad to help out. When you head out and apply what you've learned, share your story during Monday field reports. We want to see you succeed in accomplishing your goals, whatever they may be.

Happy hangover day boys

New guy here, you're definitely right about finding this place after reading a negative review of the place. Some post on /r/bestof where some woman got a lot of upvotes for saying a guy should have done what she wanted instead of what he wanted. I thought the whole thing was bullshit so when she finished with "and that's what's scary about theredpill" I immediately thought "I should get in on this red pill stuff".

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good point, let me reformulate it. Unlike the liberal "Cathedral" TRP does not have a firm, fixed opinion of every single thing in life that everybody can and does accept like a good sheep. The corollary to that is if you ever read anything that upsets you, don't think everybody believes that, don't think everybody is guilty by association for hanging out with the same people, and don't think it all is horrible just because one guy somewhere had one opinion that you find horrible.

I mean for example once I was shamed for posting in a subreddit (TRP) where one of the moderators said there is no such thing as rape in marriage. I actually happen to disagree with that, like, because just because a guy owes me money it does not mean I can take that money by force. Whatever.

But anyway, the point is, people must understand that such views are no way mandatory. This is just what one guy said about one thing.

People who think if anyone ever can think anything like that in a sub then the whole thing is poisoned are just on a narcissism trip.

So, how to put it eloquently? The freedom of a community that does not push cookie cutter opinions on everybody also means the responsibility to form opinons, but it also means the necessity to take individual people and individual ideas at a face value, and not dismiss something because it was said by someone who said something else you frown upon or posts in a place where someone else said something you frown upon and so on.

Since you're addressing new guys, I just want to tack on a reminder that when you say "modern liberal agenda", we usually leave 'politics' out of our discussion and keep it pointed toward the societal effects on men, women, and the relationships in between.

Truthfully it can be a bit frustrating as a liberal/progressive person see 'liberalism' attacked here; but, it unfortunately has encompassed the extremes such as modern feminism. In a similar way, conservatives get lumped in with uneducated rednecks and congressmen that don't understand sexual biology.

So, we may see some of these ideologies trickle into the discussion; but, even when that's the case, as you say, make your own damn opinion. Think critically and stop being spoon fed. People will have different ideas than you, so deal with it. Extract what's useful.

TL;DR: You can still hold core liberal ideologies and find this sub useful. Also, expect to challenge yourself.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Interesting topic. I used to think liberalism means feminine thinking, now I know a bit better. It is more like, liberalism gets colonized by feminine thinking faster than conservative thinking gets. But still they are not the same.

I mean for example:

1) For the masculine anti-racist racism is shit they do to people of color. For the feminine anti-racist shit they say about them. For the feminine mind, talk matters more than action. Feminine liberal: cares more about racial slurs than the unemployment of minorities.

2) Masculine moral: do this, don't do that. Treat others like this, not that. Feminine moral: this should happen to people, that not. People should be treated like this, not that. Masculine liberal argument: stop selling unhealthy food only or we will force you, dammit. Feminine liberal argument: people have the right to have access to healthy food.

3) Judge vs. caregiver. This is really interesting. At the moment someone utters the word rape, every masculine fella automatically starts thinking like a judge: "Guilty or not? Should he walk free or go to prison?" They focus on crime, the defendant, and the punishment. Basically the strict, fatherly routine: "Rape is defined as something I would beat the shit out of my son for commiting." Feminine thinking people, women or manginas, focus on the victim, the hurt, the repair, the care, the trauma, trigger and coping. "Is she hurt or not?" Nurturing mother role: "Rape is defined as something it would take a long time for my daughter to overcome."

Liberalism now is plagued by the feminine, reactionary/emotional bullshit. You bring up some good points.

On your first note, exactly. Re: racism, if I tell you not to say some racist shit, I'll have a reason to back it up. I've torn into that typical racist uncle we all have, and spawned half-hour conversations about why he holds his views, and why he should change them. Women? Good luck finding an explanation, they'll just want you to stop because you should. (As Patrice would say, they don't have a next level).

Talk seems to matter most to liberal women. Like any argument, they pick out and get hung up on the relatively inane shit, like words. You're shamed for going against the grain, questioning the majority, or having a discussion. All logic is thrown out because 'how could you say that!?', and you're now instantly wrong. Nothing you say will be comprehended and you're disqualified from having an opinion. (They attack you then and there because they don't have those extra levels. It goes against them and they can't handle having a differing view escalate). If in a group, they actively work to get a consensus against you (because this behavior doesn't have much strength alone). Try to have a rational discussion about rape and you'll see exactly what I mean.

This state we're in is ironic and frustrating. I take liberalism in its best sense to be derived from critical thinking and fair expression supported by sound argument, thinking of the big picture, actively working to find solutions, instead of getting hung up on the little things.

It bothers me that a lot of people claim to be 'liberal' simply for idiotic or self-serving interests (voting for a black president because he's black? A women because she's a woman!? [we're going to see a lot of this approaching the next election in the US]. How about instead because they have better polices?). Others, simply because they've been indoctrinated into it (because my religion is the one true religion and has nothing to do with where I was born, the surrounding culture. Everyone else is wrong lalalalalal). Sadly, this is a problem that taps into human nature and goes beyond the differences between men and women. When both men and women shut off their brains, the fact that men may be more action oriented matters naught.

Or, similarly, they don't want men thinking this way because they are being rational, and they want guys still sniffing after their pussy in 5 years. They hate it because it's against their interests.

Some things in life are zero-sum. This is one of them. Being against the interest of slutty bitches is almost sure to be in the interest of real men.

Remember, sexual strategy is amoral.

Niggle: any particular sexual strategy can be moral or immoral. Knowledge of what works and what doesn't is immoral amoral. (Yep, I typoed).

I relate this back to hacking: Knowing how to pwn a MSSQL DBMS is amoral. Using said knowledge to steal credit card info is immoral. Using said knowledge to help companies defend against attacks is moral.

Most of us here will tell you flat out that honesty is the best policy. Let the women know you are not available for exclusivity now

I agree. Not only does it increase attraction (because you are a MAN telling her what is rather than a BOY telling her what she wants to hear and then doing what you want) it also generally leads to the women going above and beyond to "win you over" which is always nice.

Women worth giving your commitment to are rare. So rare in fact we call them Unicorns, and you can consider this TRP on hard mode.

They are rare, and they are not proven until they are proven. As a direct example, I have an amazing girl right now and she's even my only girl. She's well on her way to proving that she's worthy of commitment, but she hasn't proven it yet so I haven't given it.

RP relationships are hard mode, because while pure alpha will land you a girl, you have to put some beta in there to keep the girl around long term. This balancing act is crucial and difficult (and, even more, individual to each girl... some will need the balance more towards one and some more towards the other). Relationship game is a whole new world and one that is way too inviting to revert to beta behaviors for reformed guys. Personally, I feel the rewards are worth it so I'm giving it a shot.

The RP community is small, and we seem to only want to divide ourselves further over which sexual strategy is the "best."

There is no "best" strategy. There is only the most optimal given you, your goals, and potentially the woman you are with (if you decide on commitment). If MGTOW isn't for you, then it isn't for you, but it doesn't mean it's not a valid RP topic. If LTRs aren't for you... you get the drift.

At the core of all sexual strategies is the same truth: the realization of the differences between men and women and how to use your knowledge of that to maximize your results for whichever path you choose.

Come on. That is only true for natural alphas. But those who learn Game being beta is always the natural, easier mode so they are glad for chances to fall back to it a bit.

I mean for the "learned" alpha who is NOT actually, truly Dark Triad all it takes to mellow out is to fall in love.

Nah. Were too far removed from the companies usage of our information most of the time to make that call. Its illegal at best, the same thing goes for sexual strategy. At best it makes the statement that competition and adversarial nature exist as detracting forces to our success by virtue of its adaption. You are choosing the narrative that fits your objective. That in and of itself is "wrong".

I am mentoring a friend IRL and it's been very beneficial to both of us. Scary part was he was a dude that I never thought would need any RP knowledge...he had a good strong traditional marriage...he's from a military family, played rugby, makes six figures and she's Southern (reads Garden and Gun not Cosmo).

He was leading the relationship until they had their daughters (2 and 9mo). Without realizing it and with good intentions, he had increased the beta comfort after the kids were born too much...to a point where it was creating anxiety in his wife. Through conversations, linking him some Rollo and having him listen to Beige Phillip we've got him back to being the strong Captain he was before. It was such a light bulb moment for him, realizing he'd gotten off course...got him back to being the dude he was in the beginning and got her responding to his steering their ship.

It's an ongoing process and we text or talk about it at least a couple times a week. They are a good friends and I'm happy to have been able pay him (and indirectly her) back for help they offered to me years ago.

I have some of those issues myself, married w/ 2 kids. But there's another thing that happens as well, where the wife transfers her attraction from the man to the kids. The only real love a woman ever gives is to her own kids. I think she might love sons the most, but if there are no sons, it would go to the daughters, probably above her husband.

So kids can create tension in a marriage because the attraction isn't easy to generate any more. And kids create lots of moments where one should be supportive of the kids, not something that looks very alpha all the time!

Hmm. Well I have certainly believed everything red pill teaches, even years before stumbling on this subreddit a few days ago. But I think this might be the one things I disagree on. I would have thought that red pillers would agree that women are very shallow and consider looks to be one of the most important things.

    [–]disso 2 points3 points  (1 child)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Looks are the quickest and first factor that women can use to assign you a value. Let's say social value is a number scale 0 - 100 and that women are looking for 80+. A man with looks that start him out at 50 is much more likely to make the cut than a man whose looks start him out at 20. Also, there is an upward spiral. Since looks can infer a social value a good-looking man is more likely to have confidence because he gets more validation for doing the same things a less-good-looking man would have. So besides their inherent value, a woman would likely infer your other value attributes(confidence, pay, ambition) to be higher as well.

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Exactly, that why I think looks are the most important. Because having good looks will infer that you have more social value/wealth. Having social value doesnt infer that you are good looking or wealthy though.

We should be unified in informing and supporting any reasonable and individual goal men here may have for themselves. This is a community for men to share and to learn what it is they want and need to know with regard to sexual strategy, and it's a top notch resource. Discussing failures, successes, and observations has been crucial and rewarding for me. I pride this community for helping one another and being brutally honest both in how they feel, and how they think. I'll gladly continue to contribute what I know.

I didn’t know this subreddit exsisted until it was mentioned on the frontpage today by this post

Many moons ago, I was the typical “beta” guy. I was good enough to be bestfriends but not good enough to date. I thought I knew what women wanted which was a guy who gave her love, adoration and did anything she wanted. When I did get lucky and get an official girlfriend, somehow that relationship ended before I brought the truck load of flowers to her door… I couldn’t seem to understand why I couldn’t keep a girl. I witnessed these “alpha” treat women like dirt but yet women can’t seem to get enough of them.

Heres an example of my typical beta days. I met (Lets call her Laura) this beautiful lady online and somehow managed to strike up a conversation with her. She was definitely out of my league. Imagine her at about 5’8” 130lb, curves and a nice huge rack. It was love at first sight! The first week was pure bliss. We would hang out every day, text each other every waking moment and holy shit was the sex great! In the morning I would text her, “Good morning lovely :-) I miss you! When do I get to see you lovely?” By the second week came around, she got a little lets say.. distant. When I texted her, I wouldn’t get a text back for a few minutes. She used to call me “Mr. Handsome” all the time, and that stopped. When we hung out, she was more occupied with other things like her phone or the TV. By the time the 3rd week rolled around, she didn’t even text me until hours later. And by the end of the week, I got the break up text message. “Your such a nice guy but I need more space for myself.” Nothing new I haven’t heard before.

I was devastated. She was the hottest girl I have ever dated and somehow I blew it. Did I not text her enough? Did I not spend enough money on her? Should I have kissed her on the cheek and hold her hand more often? What the fuck was wrong with me. All of my female and male friends blamed it on her. She was at the loss here, not me! She was the moron! My friends told me I was the nicest guy they have ever met, how could she not like me? She must be crazy! I always used google when I needed an answer. I never googled the topic of women because I thought I knew everything. As I did my research I happened to stumble upon articles and dating advice from a guy called Doc Love (google him). Some of the stuff he was preaching (Being alpha) was appealing to me at the time. You mean to tell me I should ignore women?? Wait, you mean I shouldn’t ask women out for another date during the date?? I thought this guy was nuts! But after reading more of his articles things started to click and make sense. I ended up buying his book, partly due to desperation for advice. I started reading the book on a Monday, and read it twice by Friday. The techniques and advice is very identical to TRP.

I tried this on the next few dates I had. Holy shit did things change. Instead of getting rejected, women were actually texting me for dates. The more I ignored them, the more they crawled to me. I was getting laid more. I attracted more beautiful women. And my last relationship went on for 3 years until I ended. That’s right, I ended a relationship for the first time in my life. I’ve been single for quite some time because I don’t want a serious relationship right now. To all the guys just discovering this subreddit, the techniques on TPR are nothing new. They have been around for centuries. The truth on how to attract women have all been diluted thanks to mainstream media. Being alpha works whether you like it or not.

    tl;dr this shit works

Economic Disengagement? I guess MGTOW is something I knew the least about, because I understood one of their core tenents is writing off relationships and sex completely, and that's not something I am interested in whastsover.

But it is an interesting notion. Sort of John Galt-ish. But it perks my interest because I understand economics and yeah, if people ever did start to "go their own way" and work just the bare bones they have to, things would collapse quickly without the taxes. And I understand their logic because women and feminists especially would sing a different tune very quickly.

Unfortunately not nearly enough would ever participate in such a movement to make an impact. But it's a noble idea.

I've had my head up my ass for over a year, but I finally get it:

Girls are fun to play with. PLAY with them. Make them fall in love with you, because you're just a cool guy who loves to play with girls, and you know once their labial petals yield to your sword, their mind is going to be blown by all the intense orgasms, and then you'll be having to beat her off with a stick.

I did that once before, of course. That's why I have a wife who won't divorce me willingly no matter how many times my phone makes the special beep and I get a big smile on my face.

I was trying to be all dark triad sociopathic asshole guy, and getting nowhere. I'm a nice guy. I'm fun. I like to play. But I don't worship silly little girls; I play with them, then when the time is right, I FUCK them like a lion, and they make all kinds of musical noises and emit all kinds of fluids, and then they say, "Thaaaaank you" with a dreamy look in their eye.

You know you're doing something right when the girl thanks you after.

You know, every once in a while I reflect on how well I am maintaining my frame and if any progress has been made/lost recently. I've noticed my frame slipping. This has happened before, and will happen again, and each time it does, I go back to the beginning. I re-read it all. I focus on each and every loose end in order to put the pieces back into their correct places. This post will mark the new beginning of that trek through TRP strategy and information.

Honestly the redpillwomen sub is very helpful for that. Almost all the main content posters on there are married with children, many of them Christian (though they won't specifically flaunt it, I see many references to church-going and religious activities).

Yeah, Dalrock's a great Christian resource but he doesn't talk a whole lot about game. He talks more about what's wrong with society and the church and he admits he himself is a beta.

    http://sunshinemaryandthedragon.wordpress.com/ is also good.

It just seems that Christians tend to shy away from talking about attraction and raw sexuality, which is what brings people together in the first place. So I read Heartiste but then I'm confused about how to apply it in a godly way that doesn't defile her and my bodies.

Not meaning to give a flip answer, I am very serious. If you are looking for a godly way, ask God. Don't ask a church organization or even a blog. Get your answers direct.

But he put you here to communicate with us other guys (and girls) so blogs like this give you a good earthly perspective. You just don't need us for the spiritual side.

It is my understanding that the entire reason for TRP's existence is to help educate and drive men toward becoming more independent socially, professionally, and romantically. One of the core reasons I continue to come back to TRP is the solid foundation of thought pounded into it's user-base of "what's in it for me?" or "what am I getting in return?".

If folks on this forum continue to lash out towards each other, either through mundane labeling or outright destructive criticism, they are eliminating and squandering that core belief. What advantage are you gaining from besmirching someone on an internet forum? Again, this is why Reddit is wonderful, "I like what they say, upvote" or "I disagree with that statement but haven't the time to voice said disagreement in a logical view downvote".

I know I'm still relatively new to TRP, I've lurked here for some time but just recently have decided I have enough RP knowledge to begin sharing or adding to a conversation/thread. I also understand that my views/beliefs may differ from others on this subreddit. Some of what I say or do may, in fact, come across as a Beta tendency to quite a few people, yet I don't let it deter me from my main goal of eliminating those aspects of myself that which I deem "Beta", and replace said character flaws with traits which I deem "Alpha". Utilizing this viewpoint, I find it incredibly difficult to label other people one way or another, because who knows how they feel about themselves.

I didn't feel it worth making it's own thread so I'll just say here. I just found out about this sub yesterday, makes me mad how true it is.

I let me last girlfriend tell me what she wanted and was respectful to her spoken desires and such. Then she went crazy and implied I wasn't being interesting enough and it drove her crazy that I let her have what she wants (which was to take things slow because she wasn't sure).

That's what I get for not wanting to play dumb games and for choosing to obey her spoken requests. Never again, women have no idea what they want. Anyway, I'll lurk some more because I don't fully understand this, but pretty useful info so far.

In my humble opinion, redpill doesn't require you to play games. Basically you do what you want, express your personality, and thereby you are leading. She is naturally attracted to leadership, it almost doesn't matter what you do as long as you are deciding.

If you're in an LTR she'll give you shit for it later, but she'll make up shit if she doesn't have enough real shit to complain about anyway, so don't let that stop you. It's just inevitable in LTRs, if you won't put up with that, stay short-term and uncommitted.

Maintaining it throughout the course of a long term relationship is another beast altogether. This is content we haven't discussed much in the past so we are looking to the community to drive it. If it is something you're interested in start making theory posts. Mate selection, maintaining frame, Captain/First Mate dynamics, etc. We aim to be the premiere hub for all things RP related, and ignoring relationships because they aren't "True RP" is ignorant.

As one of the guys here in a RP marriage, thanks for this part and I plan on contributing more directly in the coming year. Particularly mate selection and Captaining my ship. Maintaining the proper dynamics through the years is indeed a challenge and one that I look forward to discussing with those in similar situations and those merely interested in how it works (along with how it doesn't).

These are those moments in life when an open mind is your strongest asset. I am almost overwhelmed by the excitement of being able to embark on a brand new mental frontier.

Thank you so much for this subreddit.

I've run into "game" stuff before, but this is bigger than that. This is the root of human psychology. This is as meta as it gets.

    Stay classy TRP.

Edit: As a new member with no right to critique, I do have some very humble suggestions.. I would focus on the big picture, the meta stuff, the deep philosophy and psychology that unlock a mans ability to embody alpha, and beneficial behavior patterns. I get discouraged when I run into the very specific game strategies that break things down into "how to get girls at the club" with "the perfect opening line", etc.

Ok disclaimer - I got love for this sub, I think it's one of the best on reddit. This is not a "WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS SUB, IT'S FULL OF SHIT!!!" reply.

We've all been on the internet, so we know that when a community gets large, it generally becomes a giant pile or horseshit, like bodybuilding.com forums, r/music, etc etc.

To be different, RP will have to take the time to call-out these morons who come in, real like 1 page of RP theory, then think they know it all despite having no practical experience actually applying the theory. They just, as you said OP, holler "lolol what a betafag, relationships aren't RP" or "bro, bro RP says looks do matter and thus short guys can never get girls!" It becomes a massive circlejerk, because we have these terms, like AFBB (alpha fucks, beta bucks) and then people water down the term by applying it to every single situation.

Slogans are an amazing tool, but they are simplifications. Morons chant "change" or "eat the banks" or "legalize it bro!". Intelligent people talk about the reasons behind their argument and understand the duality of the argument. The dumbed down mainstream needs things put into a maximum of 10 main catchy concepts, because otherwise their heads would break. We don't want TRP becomming a place where all you see is "plate spin bro, SMV, here's an RP nugget, be alpha, Alphas dont do this, alphas do this, women are hamsters".

If you want to understand chemistry, you go beyond the general chem formulas and understand why atoms and electrons interact the way they do, how people apply this esoteric knowledge to make cool shit, etc. I think TRP needs to refocus upon the ideas behind the slogans. Slogans make it easy for beginners to come in here and get caught up, but I would say, fuck that. If they want TRP in their lives, they should be doing better than being spoon fed some easy, reduced caricature.

This will help with people who think that RP is an actual science like physics with these iron rules, like if you text a chick back quickly, you will never fuck her. Or that all guys who are rich are "alpha", or that RP means being "dark triad machiavellian sociopathic bro". People have these ridiculous ideas that are bastardizations of RP theory, but they believe it fully, like so fully that they are basically living in a fantasy land (BP in and of itself). Perhaps presenting TRP as a broad field combining science, philosophy, economic ideas, PUA, and self-improvement rather than a few iron rules would help.

The RP community is small, and we seem to only want to divide ourselves further over which sexual strategy is the "best." Personally, I think this is fucking dumb. The career players call the guys who want a girlfriend "still beta," while the MGTOW call the players "slaves to pussy." Its all bullshit and it needs to stop. Your strategy is your own to decide, and that doesn't make it objectively better than any of the others. Here in TRP our community is built of ALL THREE sexual strategies. If you don't want to support all three then head on over to the Roosh, MMSL, or MGTOW forums so you can join in on the masturbatory nonsense.

    Well put.

Here's how I put it. Anyone who helps make a better world for men is okay by me. Whether it's an entirely selfish PUA who is accidentally helping other men by taking the pussy off the pedestal, or a somewhat whiny MRA who's still doing good work by moving the Overton Window. Whether it's /u/girlwriteswhat working to promote understanding and acceptance of the male point of view, or Roissey of CH pointing out that the male viewpoint will never be embraced by society, and men need to embrace social nihilism and learn to game the system... it's all fighting the good fight, and it's all useful stuff.

Also, wanted to add something to your list:

    Plate stacking

Think of this as an intermediate position between Plate Spinning and Girlfriend Game.

Women like relationships, but often don't realize that "relationship = male monogamy" is entirely a cultural artefact of the modern west. Only men are genetically hardwired to care about keeping partners sexually exclusive.

Male infidelity is categorically, unequivocally less bad than than female infidelity, because women's actions have declared it to be so. Women desire men more when they have access to and are desired by other women. This means a cheating man remains attractive, or even becomes more so, while a cheating women loses attractiveness.

This means that with sufficient frame control and vagina tingles, it's possible to be in one or several "soft relationships", where you have a lot more emotional intimacy and commitment than you do with spun plates, but with the understanding that who you fuck is your own choice, but if she wants to stay with you, she'd better not sleep around. This may sound very difficult, but once women find themselves in that situation, jealousy quickly becomes a thing of the past, so long as she gets enough of your time and attention for her emotional needs.

I think that in many cultures, especially for upper-class men, even marriage was plate stacking, because men were expected to sometimes have something on the side, and this was perfectly okay so as he kept it discrete enough not to publicly shame his wife. In other cultures, marriage was/is Plate Stacking, because men have multiple wives.

One of the benefits of Plate Stacking, from the viewpoint of women, is that it protects them from having to form a relationship with an undesirable man "because all the good ones are taken". The guiding principle of Plate Stacking is that women would rather have some of an alpha than all of a beta.

I like doing it because it allows me to have emotional connections to women (which I like) without missing out on variety (which I also like).

I find it crazy how in the past there was a time where it was common for males to have several wives, mistresses, etc. How times have changed right? I understand both view points as well, men like to spread their seed amongst many women and in contrast monogamy promotes healthier families and better chance for successful children for the most part but not always.

    [–]MSoftHarem[S] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Morality is a personal and subjective set of ethics. The act of cheating is "wrong" to some, and not to others. However, the consequences of cheating on a woman are what make it a poor sexual strategy, as I explained.

    From OP:

TRP does not condone cheating or lying to women. If you tell a woman you're exclusive and then fuck around on her I have no problem calling you a shithead. Don't do that, it creates feminists and other terrible types of women.

    1) Morality is subjective. If you believe honesty is a moral good and dishonesty is a moral evil, cheating (a form of dishonesty) is necessarily a moral evil.

    2) SoftHarem hasn't actually come out and said in this section that cheating is immoral, although I can't speak to his intention. What this section does state is that cheating 'creates feminists and other terrible types of women.' From this we can gather that TRP does not condone cheating for pragmatic reasons, rather than moral ones. EDIT: See /u/SoftHarem's response, hadn't come through yet when I gave mine.

    [–]Nemester 2 points3 points  (7 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

    Morality is subjective.

I don't really agree with this statement. There is no fundamental morality inherent in the universe, but there is a consistent morality to human nature. Why? Because some ways of behaving help societies grow and out compete others, while others types destabilize societies and make them less competitive.

Morality does exist in a relatively written down in stone sort of way because of past cultural/genetic feedback governing evolution. Some moral beliefs were positively selected, and others were not.

That isn't to say that it can't change, but it is more akin to an slow evolutionary process than to "I can just change my mind" sort of thing. In order for morality to change, the environment must change to favor those with a different morality (and high fertility).

    [–]Alphadestrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Yes, you are correct in that perspective you are viewing it in. Morality was/is needed for a functioning society based on trust, credit, and honesty (which is how our monetary system works). However, the universe is extremely violent and doesn't give 2 fucks about our concept of "morality" neither do animals that just kill for the fun. They are real and do exist in our head (to varying degees of what's right and wrong based on year born, location, culture, etc) although that is far from saying the are universally true. In my opinion the universe just doesn't give a shit about our ideas of morality. We care because they are real to us and have some sort of benefit.

    [–]_whistler -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

some ways of behaving help societies grow and out compete others, while others types destabilize societies and make them less competitive.

This type of moral framework is dependent upon the goal of a 'stable society'. It is thus subjective.

Also overly simplistic: what type of society should be stable and what type should not be? Differing moral frameworks function best within a tribal society, feudal society, democratic society, etc.

    [–]Nemester 1 point2 points  (2 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

the goal of a 'stable society'

I wouldn't call it a goal, it is an emergent property, like all of evolution. 'stable society' isn't a goal so much as it works better for promoting the interests of those who are part of it.

Since morality is so broad, it covers a lot of different things. Some are firmly and truly subjective. Others are clearly universal to all of human societies and have been heavily selected for. For example, in all human societies it is immoral to kill members of your in-group. Exceptions really only occur in war (it is ok to kill members of out-groups). Anyway, the morality surrounding murder is basically written in stone and is the same across societies, not because this is fundamental to the universe, but because it facilities a society's competitiveness and success. Through cultural/evolutionary feedback individuals who violate this are negatively selected against. The point is, this type of thing isn't just floating in the ether. It has been selected for biologically as much as culturally, and can't just be "changed" like might be implied by calling it subjective.

    [–]_whistler -1 points0 points  (1 child)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I wouldn't call it a goal, it is an emergent property

Interesting. I'll put some thought into this, thanks.

For example, in all human societies it is immoral to kill members of your in-group.

Just to clarify, by in-group you're not referring to the entire human race but rather fellow members of the 'tribe', correct? The wording of your next couple sentences confused me on this point.

This type of moral framework is dependent upon the goal of a 'stable society'. It is thus subjective.

No, it is thus conditional. not the same thing.

    [–]Alphadestrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

It's crazy how we view morality as being subjective. Sometimes I wish it was more black and white but it is what it is. Cheating is wrong if you made a commitment in my opinion, although other people might disagree with me and that's ok. Which is why we are here, we play the field and not get attached to 1 girl, why be stuck on 1 girl when there are so many that can show you good times. I understand some things are bent/can be bent to allow certain things to be permissible. That's just my 2 cents.

It wasn't explicitly stated cheating is "wrong" but it was implied. My point is if sexual strategy is amoral, and exists outside of the construct of morality, cheating can't be any more wrong than anything else, and is simply, as he clarified, a poor sexual strategy (arguably).

How is cheating directly related to SS? As a married RP'er, I use SS (and other red pill knowledge) to handle a ton of relationships. Whether its professional or social, Sexual Strategy is a powerful tool in the tool kit.

Every relationship you have (Hopefully outside of your family) is related to SS in some way. Sex drives the core of what people do, even if they don't admit it, and having intimate knowledge of that is a huge advantage.

How you use that knowledge is where the amoral part comes in for me.

    [–]birdwontquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Are you confusing amoral and immoral?

How can anything be more directly related to SS than cheating? It's literally a strategy to have sex. I'm not condoning it, just thought that distinction was interesting.

Cheating presupposes you already made a commitment to the other person. When you make a promise to someone, then you don't keep it, that makes it wrong.

While I have had my minor complaints over all the mod of this sub has been fantastic and I am glad to see you addressing the MGTOW crowd.

This sub has helped me dessimate decades of inferior thinking and behavior. And it's only going to get better as I construct my frame. An oasis in a desert this is. THANK YOU!

Shouldn't self-improvement be on that list?

I mean, self improvement for the man's own sake, as opposed to self-improvement for the sake of DHV.

In any case, TRP is what led me to the manosphere. I'm glad to have found like-minded men.

    My favourite part: Do work.

I've come to realize how important work is to a man.

As men we work to fix our problems. Men that take initiative and DO WORK to achieve what they've set out to do are inherently attractive and strong.

It has been a very motivating realization for me and I can't wait to take on 2014.

    Thank you TRP!

I am late to this subreddit as I just discovered it recently. Good points and I agree, we must work and fix ourselves by becoming better every day and having a balls to the wall attitude about grinding and working. How bad do you want it? To be successful is to say how much pain are you willing to take? Take no prisoners mindset in life.

Im glad that you made the point of taking what you want/need in your life not just succumbing to turning the whole RP in Religious Dogma that all men should act exactly the same. It comes down to the individual and how they see their own place within the confines of the society that they live in.

    [–]opencover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"taking what you want/need in your life", that's it exactly.

I would add, taking what you want, all you want, but not more than that. Don't use up 100 women, then that's 100 women that won't be attractive to your brothers any more. Sure, have relationships, have fun, fuck, win, but be a natural animal. In nature, one takes what one needs.

Sounds good. I'm new here, but after doing some light reading, I've found that a lot of my outside studies share many commonalities in TRP. Anyone subscribe to Elliott Hulse on YouTube? The man is Alpha as fuck, and drops knowledge nearly every day with video responses to young men's questions pertaining strength, health, chicks, etc. I started watching him by accident when looking for some workout advice, and he's shed light on so many more topics that physical strength. Definitely worth checking out for some general lifestyle advice, not always pertaining to game.

Anyways, it's 2014, and I'm glad my friend turned me on to TRP yesterday. I see myself growing leaps and bounds with this new hub of information. Thanks to the mods and everyone that's dropping knowledge with anecdotes.

    Question here:

About the LTR game, is it meant to end in what, life long and kids? If that is the case, do you advocate marrying?

This seems to me a dangerous game, because once you do marry you've given away your greatest power: walking away (unscathed that is)

Note: I am a proponent of the LTR and kids, in the sense that if you don't leave some then, in the end, you lost the game of life.

We do not condone any legally binding contracts with a woman. No marriage, no children, and no cohabitation, period. It is called "Girlfriend Game" for that specific reason.

    [–]opencover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Swallowing the red pill means looking truth straight in the eye and not blinking (very much at least.) It should not necessarily mean giving up one's desire to have children. That's biologically hardwired in many of us.

One is truth. The other is desire, opinion. Orthogonal.

I agree that in our current western society, the legal entanglements are extremely risky for men. I am sure there is no good way to mitigate it, otherwise we'd know it. The system is designed to prevent mitigation. It's designed for female power.

Nevertheless, what does one do if one has decided to have kids anyway? It's the real reason for marriage in my opinion, because kids benefit from stability. Redpill could propose practical strategies to keep the marriage together, or to create children without the legal risks like spreading your seed far and wide. Even keeping a low financial profile so that the kids are real but the financial risks are reduced.

I'm married with kids. There have been many times when we've just stayed together for the kids, but we have done so. Not every female is a bitch who would frivorce. Granted, it seems a lot of them are, so how can you tell with reasonable certainty before it's too late?

Long time lurker here, but I was wondering if you could explain the problem with cohabitation a bit for me. Assuming you're in a state that doesn't allow common law marriage, how is this a negative in an LTR? I'm a big fan of The 48 Laws of Power, and one of the most important IMO is "Learn to keep people dependant on you". In my scenario, my girl is dependant on me for income, housing, food, essentially everything. This firmly puts me in a position of power, and I can't see a downside here.

If you are not subject to legal binds of any kind by cohabitation where you live, you should be fine. Don't have kids if you don't want any strings.

I've been wanting to talk about this for a while and this seems like as good a place as any. It might need its own thread. I remember reading that direct linking was against the rules here. Not sure if that still is or ever was, but I would be a strong supporter of making the sub self post only. I'm here for the discussion and commentary. I don't want to have to give some shitty feminist website ad revenue just to make a link purple. Plus, just posting links to blog posts on hashed out topics does nothing. I'd much rather see people link inside a self post and be required to explain how they think its relevant, new, etc. Does anyone else agree on this?

TRP has had an impact in my life in 2013 and will shape my 2014. From my point of view there has always been discussion of 3 types of game- I am looking to improve my LTR right now, and if that does not work out it's plates\soft harem time.

One interesting point is I have turned a couple of men onto TRP. One is running with it- the other two go "yeah, some of that stuff is spot on, it's interesting" and then pretty much fade out. Let's all keep in mind that not everyone sees a need to improve themselves. TRP is not always the happiest route (esp. in the short term) but the TRP man lives with what is and not deludes himself with what should be.

Good stuff broski, keep working hard and the women will come. Stay single for as long as possible while doing what you always wanted to do with a good amount of money once your career is set. And even if the women don't come life isn't all about girls, it's about being the best you can be and hoping some amazing girl comes along and supports you, although we will admit that is increasingly rare.

      Also remove this bullshit:

Women worth giving your commitment to are rare. So rare in fact we call them Unicorns, and you can consider this TRP on hard mode.

When you can't be yourself in a monogamous relationship, why purse a relationship then? +it is fucking easy since there are only 5 archetypes of girls. Once you had those 5 you have had them all.

Perhaps we can get a sticky for new users not to tell us about how they don't agree with most of the views here as a standard preamble for new posts, or how they're starting to think one view is ok, etc. Maybe there can be a weekly megathread for all new users to come here and repeat those three points - 1) partially swallowing pill, 2) don't agree with all views, 3) will admit one is right.

If we agree that alpha and beta exists on a spectrum then the taller, stronger male will innately be more alpha than someone not as big.

Not always. Sometimes selective pressures favor smaller males over larger ones. For example, in a famine, someone who needs less food to maintain basic bodily functions has a survival advantage over someone who needs more.
