So anyway's, how many gifts do I need to buy a woman to make her respect me? joking

I've noticed we've been getting directly linked by The Blue Pill, I don't care about the down voting on it's own but they are increasingly jumping in with trollish posts and fellow Blue Pillers are voting it up. It's screwing up the commenting in a few less popular threads, which I do care about. This increased vigilance I'm sure will get a few but you may want to pay extra attention to threads they link

Not to mention we were apparently featured on another of askreddits weekly worse sub thread so we are probably seeing some traffic from that as well. Ignore, they will either join or leave eventually.

For the life of me I'll never understand why a subreddit like that exists, the level insecurity there is astounding.

You know what, I've been looking for a word to describe what I sense is the source of their butthurt, but I couldn't quite articulate it. Insecurity is exactly the word I've been looking for. Thank you!

Immature people who can't construct a good counter-argument and just troll instead.

Not hard to understand. TRP threatens their self made bubble of ignorance.

Don't even look at the votes on this sub. We have more trolls voting than we have actual people voting.

I'm completely serious. Fun thing to do: look at your upvotes on your earliest posts, after you post on TRP for a while, you'll notice they start to tick down as SRS/TBP/Feminazi's see your name here and then downvote every single thing you've ever posted anywhere.

As obvious in any gaylubeoil post. The top or one of the top posts is generally someone dismissing him for being a douchebag. Someone who clearly is struggling to understand TRP (or is a bluepill plant) and deserves no attention.

    [–]1bradyo2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Man, I saw that last week, like 150+ upvotes on some guy calling him a douche and guys saying "you just need to respect women".

If it wasn't a troll, it was fucking embarrassing.

    [–]Meglomaniac 1 point2 points  (34 children)

Honestly, I am a proud supporter of TRP and what it stands for. I am most CERTAINLY not a feminist, or a bluepill supporter of any way shape or form.

I really really dont like half of what gaylubeoil posts. I find that a lot of his posts are extremely misogynistic and full of hate. Thats just my opinion and I encourage him to continue to post his opinion.

    When this happens...

    REPORT THEM

Speaking as a mod, this is the best tool we have at our disposal for dealing with crap content and trolls. It puts the power in your hands as well, so if you want this to remain a quality sub then you guys have got to do your part and help us out.

The one thing that I want to make clear about this post is that you take the time to look at someones posting history and see if they are active posters.

we CANNOT ban people for disagreeing with TRP. It is not a circle jerk subreddit, we discuss things in depth here, that is how our views evolve as a subreddit. I do not deserve to get banned simply because I disagree with things about TRP and choose to voice my opinion about it.

I am not a bluepiller, but I am allowed to have my own opinion regarding the things that TRP preaches.

    [–]nottraceable 8 points9 points  (2 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Let's be honest. This is so easy to abuse. You can just ban whatever you don't like, what is the voice of dissent. How can you ensure that not some crazy mod will just abuse this for his personal gain? How can you ensure freedom of speech? I've seen cases where people were banned for just disagreeing (not per se in this sub).

Reddit by its nature is already kinda hive mind like (upvote for shit you agree with, downvote stuff you disagree with). This rule will at best keep the situation as it is, at worst it will only promote the loudest voices.

    [–]Meglomaniac 4 points5 points  (1 child)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I agree with the mod posting, and I posted my post to clarify what we both agree on.

I dont think that people who not taken the common courtesy to take an in depth reading into what we discuss here should be allowed to post and clutter up the subreddit. TRP is EXTREMELY complex, and it really does require an in depth reading to really understand the majority of it. That is what the moderator is going to ban you for.

This is not banning dissent or disagreement, its banning people who have no understanding of TRP or the complex parts of it, to make useless posts that just dilute the discussion.

Take the time and read what we discuss here, and then make a post. /asktrp is for questions for clarification about TRP and even they need to have a basic understanding of the theories.

On the sub I mod at another account, this is the number one thing I look for in whether to remove posts/ban someone. If they are a three year active member with hundreds of karma in the community (and I somehow don't know them by now), something that may seem like spam obviously isn't at that point.

When a shitty click-for-ad-revenue blog posts a link under a 1 month account with 3 comments in history, and has posted it on other subreddits as well, I'm banning that motherfucker

    [–]100 Modbsutansalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

When deciding to ban someone I also look at someone's posting history to determine if they're just uninformed or deliberately trying to troll.

    [–]2asd1100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you didn't notice disagreements are not the problem, but rather the closed up nature of some of the bluer memebers, they refuse actual dialog and pat one on the back for their blue pill delusions.

Also we don't preach, we agree on a set of ideas. Divergence is perfectly reasonable even disagreement with some ideas, but nitpicking and blatant rejection of core principles is simply rude and contrarian.

I would like to point out that due to the rational and open nature of this comunity it is virtually imposible to reach feminist levels of circle jerking(try posting a balanced egalitarian comment here and there and see the difference) so your fears are kinda unfounded.

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

go to reddit preferences go to comment options and delete the number in "don't show me comments with a score less than" box. this will stop trolls from using the down vote option to censor things. censorship is the hallmark of tyranny. the popularity or unpopularity of a statement does not effect whether it is true or not.

    [–]2asd1100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your thoughts on censorship. But massive blue baller voting brigades do afffect the actual quality of this forum and the utility us as members get from it.

There is a sub called redpillwomen

    [–]Meglomaniac 14 points15 points  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

That is for women centered discussions, I still welcome the input of women in the main TRP subreddit provided they have an understanding of the theory of TRP.

    [–]Endorsed ContributorWe_Are_Legion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I thought the mod post mentioned women can post but shouldn't attention whore by qualifying their arguments with "i'm a woman" and expect it to mean something. That specifically detracts from the conversation.

Inclusion of women usually leads to dumbing down, tone police and all manner of bullshit, while they contribute next to nothing in terms of content(most of it IS objectively attention-whoring). Its true for other parts of internet and its true for redpill.

    Keep attention whores out.

    [–]salami_inferno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's for discussions focused around redpill woman, they are still very welcome here as long as they contribute in a positive manner and don't just concern troll.

To play devils advocate a bit, there is A LOT of info on the sidebar. I think that's one of the great things about this sub. I'd feel bad though if some potential redpiller was turned away with a banhammer because they discovered TRP while hitting random and asked a stupid question without noticing the sidebar. I also think the last thing TRP needs is to turn into a unquestionable dogma with banhappy mods ruling like the inquisition. I fully support a well modarated community but I hate to say it but this post comes across a little srs like and it worries me, but I'm mainly just a lurker so take that with a grain of salt.

Following the rules of engagement shows me that you at least read that much of the sidebar.

Not following the rules shows me that you haven't read any of it.

purge TRP of all its members and require a reading test to get in.

Any thoughts on requiring a standardized test of the reading material? It might further cut down on the drive-by shitposting.

I agree with doing a little more weeding out but not with a standardized test. Without it being proctored cheating would be to easy.

You're both missing the point of that. We're not trying to weed out anyone who disagrees or doesn't understand TRP, just the shitty posts.

When I first came I had no fucking idea about anything, so there's no way I'd pass a test to get in. I subsequently wouldn't have discovered TRP.

Perhaps make it optional. A test would be fun, but it's the sort of thing no one could agree on. And it's the kind of thing that generates no substantive content.

As bradyo2 pointed out, you're missing the point.

Failure to abide by the posting rules is just a huge red flag that tells me that the poster did not bother to read the sidebar.

I'm referring to an easy quiz that would determine whether or not the testee read the sidebar. It would cut down on the kind of minimal effort crap comments that infest Reddit in general. Sure, you could expend the effort of banning users, but this is perhaps a more effective way of restricting posters to those users who are willing to spend a few hours reading the sidebar.

What's to stop any old reddit prole from dropping by and polluting the subreddit with their terrible comments and upvotes? A 30 minute quiz, that's what. There needs to be a barrier to entry, or the lowest common denominator will rule.

I think, we should limit voting rights to old members and let new members stroke their blue balls in the bottom of a thread where they don't do any harm.

Censoring will just increase the number of "one time" accounts, limit dialog and alienate newbies that could actually benefit from the comunity.

the first link on the sidebar.

                          is "All Posts"

"introduction" is several links down, Below the Fold.
