Someone telling you you're a bitch because you won't go to the shop for them elicits a laugh at how pathetic their manipulation is, not a "oh boy they're right, I'm not even man enough to buy shit for them!"

I feel like there's a backstory here.

[–]trying2bracehumanity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it reminds me of a lot of TV show scenarios, like everybody loves raymond type of thing where the beta male star of the show has to go buy tampons/do anything whatsoever.

More or less it's something every beta guy has done before.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (1 child)

Unless they are part of your trusted council, people's opinions will matter less to you. Almost nothing.

Besides lifting, this is probably the most signifigant point (to me at least). I've noticed that everyone...and I literally mean every single person in my life except one...will offer unsolicited "advice" at the drop of a hat. Everyone is a damn expert on what I'm doing wrong with my life and will pontificate at length about it even though I never asked. But when it comes to actual help, they flake on me.

Moreover, these renderers of unsolicited counsel will get in close so they can "present" the information, as if they were a talking head on TV. That's why it's more alpha to lean back instead of forward when sitting. It's not only about not putting your head down, it's about not putting yourself in somebody's face and looking like a tryhard.

I frequently find myself paraphrasing Yoda, "My own counsel will I keep on...."

For extreme circumstances, I reserve the nuclear option.

Yet it's also important to remember that I as a recovering beta, have been subject to the same conditioning and must be on guard against the compulsion to pontificate in the same manner myself.

How to know you're alpha:

You're not questioning if you're alpha.

[–]Ktmouse 57 points58 points  (11 children)

Exactly. If you're reading this post to see if you are... you aren't.

[–]HerculestheRed 18 points19 points  (6 children)

Although it's true that some of the "alpha in training" guys might be on there way and wanted to check, I agree with this.

If you have to check, you aren't. Not yet, at least.

I opened this for one reason only. With the rash of people reporting Rollo, I half expected to see bbb in the comments because they don't know who IllimitableMan is.

[–]The_Turbinator 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Perhaps the title of this article should have been phrased better. "Traits that an Alpha personality exhibits".

[–]Dark triad expert: - - [3 Points]IllimitableMan[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree. Way too much butthurt. Emotional people get caught up on the presentation rather than the substance, as is evident by the numerous whiny/ad hominem comments. Not like we need or even want these kind of people here anyway.

[–]450k_crackparty 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I would argue that 99% of the people in this sub are not true alphas. Everyone here is either beta or alpha-in-training. Not that that makes the advice and posts in here any less true.

I only know a few true alphas in my age group (late 20s). And I couldn't picture a single one browsing this kind of forum. In fact, they mostly use the internet for practical purposes (buy/sell, email, entertainment, and some learning).

[–]cheechawcheechaw 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Yeah cause they are naturals.

[–]2 Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but they definitely have other/better shit to do than be online. I come here in my down time, but when I can get shit done, I'm not on here at all. It's amazing to people how much you can get done in your life when you're not watching TV, playing video games, or fucking around. Some down time is good, but not every day for hours at a time.

Those guys are busy, they know what they want to spend their time doing, and they do it.

[–]Engineer3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, looks like I'm making good progress judging by this list. I know I'm not there yet but over the last few months I've adopted many of the traits this article talks about.

It's a good list for those of us in training. Helps us know what we are doing right and what we still need to improve.

About his advice for alphas in progress, also spot on. I cut way down on the drinking to both better myself and to lose weight faster. Mitigating my vices and hitting the gym were big steps to improving my life and I honestly feel fucking fantastic with the changes I've already made.

[–]Entrefut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way. It's an excellent check list to keep in mind for day to day encounters.

[–]Perfected 7 points8 points  (1 child)

but then again.. just because you don't question whether or not you're alpha doesn't mean you are.

[–]beginner_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree, also true. I agree with the initial comment if you ask yourself "Am I alpha? Then you are certainly not, And I include myself in this. But as you say not questioning yourself doesn't make you alpha at all it makes you oblivious or self-unaware. I bet a lot of omegas fall into this category.

    [–]ShagggyDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a fallacy. It's a measurable thing. You or anyone else can measure it. This post is suggesting a method (good or bad). I agree that a 100% confident guy wouldn't question himself, but you can use it to measure/help others, or find out what you miss.

    [–]classerrr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but what about those who say what it is written in your comment? And what about those who say <what about those who say what it is written in your comment>? Meta-over meta-over meta, but you already changed the system. You cannot undo that.

      [–]Dark triad expert: - - [3 Points]IllimitableMan[S] 20 points21 points  (9 children)

The older you get, the less you care about random unsolicited opinions and the more you accrue people over the years who have repeatedly come through for you again and again. Likewise those who don't come through or don't bother to come through get dropped. One-sided friendships have limited utility, you will meet many users (eg: DTs) and you arms-length them or you drop them entirely. True friendships flourish over years, not weeks or months. Likewise, they are reciprocal. Even though your advisers can betray you, if they have been in your service for a long time their personal investment is high as is their sense of personal affinity and thus the chance of betrayal is low.

Some people are more prone to betraying, eg: DTs, as their concept of loyalty does not permeate through your utility, eg: you become useless/obsolete/replaced by another and they will betray you in a heartbeat because they don't have use for you. They don't care about you, they just care about your utility. Always have to be sharp with DT people and aware of the game at hand, they want your trust only so they can abuse it. They want your trust because they don't trust anybody, yet they realise the value/utility of trust. DTs are huge hypocrites. Do what they want not what they say is their mantra. Always realise the kind of person you're dealing with, for the most part DTs are fucking shit at concealing the fact they are DT, they always seem "a little bit off."

When dealing with DTs (and you have all met them whether you realise it or not) trust them to do only what is in their interest, significant sacrifice is practically an alien concept to the majority of them, especially the younger/less cunning ones who don't realise they can throw people off the scent by doing sacrificial shit every now and then. Forcing DTs to "act normal" actually is a win-win, it benefits the people they treat like instruments and it helps them keep their cover. Anyhow, I have digressed.

      [–]classerrr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

trust them to do only what is in their interest

You gotta first understand what are their interests. You see, normal people are easy to read. A DT can easily understand what a normal people want, and where his/her weaknesses are, what are the right buttons to be pushed and where they are situated. How can a normal do the same with a DT? Kinda difficult. Especially when the normal is not aware of the game. And even if the normal is aware, dependency could be a piece of the game.

Digressing just a little bit: why don't you write a DT piece where you describe how Game Theory (the mathematical model) can easily describe the DT mental processes, his decisions and behavior when dealing with other people?

      [–]dgillz 1 point2 points  (2 children)

DT? That acronym is not in the sidebar, what does this mean?

      [–]beginner_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When dealing with DTs (and you have all met them whether you realize it or not) trust them to do only what is in their interest, significant sacrifice is practically an alien concept to the majority of them

Thinking about this my boss could be DT (or just smart). But he usually keeps a way from risky projects instead of trying to make them work but then is quick to sweep in to "save the world" when an easy opportunity presents itself and there is "glory" to be had.

And usually I have to present the "boring stuff" and he then presents the "cool stuff" (even though it was be who did the actual work).

Also when looking at his team (obviously including me) he clearly chose/employed people who he thinks are no threat to him. I have social anxiety but clearly getting better, the other one just doesn't care about career, just keen on an easy "9-5" type of job and his beer and the last one "left" but was an obvious omega. (He had a rage attack and wrote an infamous email up to the director of the board).

      [–]Thizzlebot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

      Love the "trusted council" line.

It's truly perfect line, my gf could never understand why I didn't give a fuck what other people think when she was always so self conscious of everyone. PEOPLE DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE. Maybe your shirt does look dumb? Someone might comment on it but at the end of the day they move on and don't care at all. Unless you respect someone their opinion is invalid. Would you care if a homeless person said you suck ass with money? Didn't think so.

        [–]Mechbiscuit 70 points71 points  (8 children)

        I like this write up.

I'm one of those on TRP who thinks that the terms "alpha" and "beta" should be replaced with the terms "man" and "boy". It helps to make those terms less ambiguous but it also suits what we're trying to accomplish here which is taking back masculinity.

Being a "guy" is someone who is stuck in adolescence - the midpoint between becoming a man. We are not "guys", nor should we aspire to be. We are men.

        [–]Dark triad expert: - - [3 Points]IllimitableMan[S] 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Completely agree with your points on terminological choice.

        [–]Mechbiscuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also think that it's easier to relate to those two ideas outside of TRP which is kinda the point. If you tell a co-worker that "well, I am an alpha" you're going to get strange looks. If you tell him "what do you expect, I'm a man" it will make sense to them.

I have a problem with living one identity on the internet and another elsewhere as if we're part of a secret group. It's what gives TRP it's bad reputation - these guys on the internet are so unrelatable because they use that language.

        [–]JakofClubs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the social settings I've observed, there are usually one, sometime a few in a larger group, that are the Alpha. Then there are what I'd call Betas, quality men who aren't top dog in this situation, but could be the Alpha in a smaller group, and Blue Pill losers I'd call Omegas. What TRP calls "beta" I think of as being Omega. Most of the people on TRP are Omegas that have tasted the red pill and are transitioning into Betas. Only time will tell if they will ever truly transform into a Alpha. I doubt if any true, natural alphas bother with TRP or posting on Internet forums. It's like a fish taking swimming lessons. Most of the people on TRP will learn some Alpha traits and end up being quality Betas with some Alpha traits.

Personally, I'm a natural Beta. In a small group of guys, I'll often be a leader, but as the group grows, there will always be someone more Alpha. And I'm fine with that because I can usually accomplish my goals without the burdens of leadership. Eight years of marriage had pushed me to the low end of the Beta totem pole. TRP was a wake-up call.

        [–]darkstout 6 points7 points  (2 children)

"Dominant" and "submissive" are other synonyms for "alpha" and "beta."

Women want dominant men, not submissive boys.

I'd also argue all women are looking for a father-type figure... so treat her like a girl where submission is her natural role.

        [–]Mechbiscuit 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Glad we're on the same page.

I'd also argue all women are looking for a father-type figure... so treat her like a girl where submission is her natural role.

Agree. There's more to that, I've discovered. It's not about being overbearing or domineering. There is a piece of it that means you are something of a father-type figure for her, and this comes in 2 desirable forms for women.

First of all, being her rock. Her captain, the center of her storm. Remember, women know they are emotionally irrational at times and they hate it, that's why they need our stoicism, as a grounding agent.

The second part of that is being fun. Being able to take her back to a place in her mind where nothing mattered, like when she was a child again, running through fields of grass on an adventure in her beautiful sundress.

Those are the 2 central virtues of being a man and they go hand in hand with each other. It's about taking on responsibility and owning the shit out of it so she doesn't have to.

        [–]freebytes 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I disagree with this because it gives the perception that a man can be deprived of his identity of being a man simply by external forces. "A real man would..." is dangerous for men growing up because they feel they must meet some standard simply to maintain their identity. As /u/darkstout mentioned, "dominant" and "submissive" are much better terms because they can be applied to individuals without questioning their self-identification. You either are or are not. There is no loss of self but merely switching perception.

        [–]Mechbiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this because it gives the perception that a man can be deprived of his identity of being a man simply by external forces.

Yes he can. Or, in our case, lack of a father figure growing up. The subtle difference is you implied that it's a reactionary force pushing us into our current (submissive) role whereas it's actually the lack of that force that's lead us here. Our fathers left us and that hole in our hearts, the "I don't know what to do, therefore I'm going to be submissive" is what has shaped us.

Why else have we joined TRP if we're not searching for that sense of identity? We have relinquished our sense of agency to a bunch of strangers on the internet to fill the void our fathers left.

I think "dominant" and "submissive" do fall under "man" and "boy" titles. To myself, I don't have too much of a problem distinguishing the differences but everyone has their own impression of what a "man" is.

I agree that the statement "a real man would..." is treading dangerous ground, too. You don't want to be manipulated by external forces that will make you submissive (your boss, girlfriend, the bouncers at your local pub etc) and it's worth mentioning is TRP itself in that list. There are problems and poison here and you need to guard your identity until it is tried and tested so it only yields good things.

        Drama is time rape.

Anything you don't enjoy... or gain from... or develop via... is time rape.

        Incidentally, some people like drama.

        [–]t21spectre 1 point2 points  (2 children)

        some people like drama.

I have noticed those who both create and enjoy drama are usually boring people. Hence why they create drama, to "spice up" an otherwise dull existence.

        [–]Kirkayak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many find drama less costly than many another activity, and figure that so long as something bumps the dopamine, it's good to go.

        Boring is subjective, of course.

        [–]Dark triad expert: - - [3 Points]IllimitableMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are boring or they are always bored because they are DT. DTs love drama, the attention feeds the narcissism.

I don't get the voice is deeper (lifting) part. Does this mean lifting causes the voice to get deeper?

        [–]masturbator9000 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. OP is just spreading Broscience.

        [–]bill_cosby_raped_me 23 points24 points  (1 child)

        totally worked for mike tyson.

        [–]LuvBeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mike Tyson didn't do almost any lifting, relying mostly on ring work and bodyweight exercizes.

        [–]Ridergal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, what it means it should mean is that the pitch of your voice is lower. In a business environment, having a lower pitch to your voice is good for both men and women. A lower pitch sounds more authoritative and powerful, especially if you are constantly on the phone and the only part of you that clients deal with is your voice.

Think of it this way. Who sound more authoritative, James Earl Jones saying "This is CNN" or Bernadette from The Big Bang Theory?

        [–]1wakethfkupneo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lifting boosts testosterone levels. One side effect of high T is deeper voice. And if you read stories of people that (typically) were fat and started lifting and lost lot of fat and built muscle during the process - you'll notice that many report their voice is now deeper.

              [–]Dark-Ulfberht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

              It's simpler than that.

If you ask yourself, "am I alpha?" . . .You're not.

              [–]TheSliceman 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Meh, the lion doesn't have to go down a checklist to know he is the king.

              He just knows.

              [–]OilyB 1 point2 points  (1 child)

True, but even the lioncub was once in a stage where he asked himself "At what point will I be king?", "What can I learn or change to get into higher ranks?"

              [–]TheSliceman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Formatting suggestion: with so many pointers, it would have been better to manually number them instead of using default bullets—helps in commentators mentioning out a particular point.

              [–]KingofFerretPowers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think everyone will have a natural strength on this list. As for me, I'm going to take two of these points and apply them and work on them immediately. The rest I will gradually add in upon seeing progression on whatever I am working on.

              [–]fasterpussycatdie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

•Men specifically will actually test you more than when you were beta, you will find they feel threatened/insecure by your masculinity that they lack, so they will throw more shit at you. Usually they do this passive aggressively. In a way, they are much like women. Funny how similar beta/omega men can be to women. They all characterise feminine behaviours.

Got a couple guys like this where I work. False alphas. Normally I will just ignore but when I give it back it always shuts them down.

              [–]Endorsed ContributorAFPJ 9 points10 points  (3 children)

"Are you Alpha?" is becoming our very own "Do you even lift?".

Reality check, we built a place for Alphas and it's called prison - those with enough intelligence are billionaires. Our society is a net of functional relationships between betas and omegas. Those genetically unfit to lead trying to be in a position of leadership when they can't handle stress, take hits or make hard decisions are just self-destructing.

This shit's real simple, you either:

              • Increase your value through self-improvement and producing value or
              • Learn to bargain better by improving social skills (game is a social skill)

You get the sacred magical sacred boogeyman Alpha status when you're the highest value person in a venue (which means you're in the wrong venue). Like it or not, genetics play a huge role. This isn't to say you shouldn't try to be the most you can be: self-actualization is the shit. However, you can act Alpha and "be Alpha" all you want - but if you're a 5'9 manlet & offend the wrong person twice your size, you're done. Animal Planet is still very much in effect.

Strive for status, but don't delude yourself and end up on the hook for paying prices you can't afford. You can't fool anyone's hind-brain with eye contact, posture tweaks & pretending to be dominant: your body betrays your mind.

You can get a temporary taste of the "leader dynamic" by pretending - but if your mind, body, physiology, genetics or one of 10,000 other pieces isn't up to par, the cons of "Alpha" will outweigh the pros & you will eventually break.

This is a lot like those least experienced with violence being the most willing to instigate.

              [–]1cover20 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nah, "fake it til you make it" works pretty well.

Nothing is forever, even for the naturals, true alphas, whatever you want to call them if they even exist. If you get some success, or get with a hot girl, then you did that and nobody can take it away from you.

              [–]Endorsed ContributorAFPJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even for the naturals, true alphas, whatever you want to call them if they even exist.

Bingo, there's no such thing. Leadership is a state: some exhibit it more often than others. The pros of leadership only outweigh the cons if an individual's state & physiology are conducive to dealing with, ergo minimizing, the cons.

Furthermore, power corrupts - like hot chicks losing their looks, leadership seldom ends gracefully - think the guys who peak in high school, dictators whose dictatorships are overthrown & lions being killed off along with their cubs.

I'd just like to stress that the above shouldn't be used as an excuse to avoid doing uncomfortable things to rise in the ranks of society - most people are capable of doing and being more than they currently are. My point here is to be judicious in one's rise so you don't end up much like the peons who eagerly jump on that management promotion only to find themselves burning out with their life crashing down around them from 80hr weeks a few months later.

              [–]magicalbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're a 5'9 manlet & offend the wrong person twice your size, you're done.

Therefore the best strategy for men around this height is massive charisma around women. Seduce underneath all the social status with every other attractive trait. 5'9 manlet's best tool could be isolate as fast as possible.

              [–]Antilogic81 6 points7 points  (2 children)

How do you know you're an alpha? Seriously? Here's the skinny of it. It's simple and because it's simple no one really believes it, but it's the same mantra as those who wonder why someone is cool.

Those that are, don't care that they are. And those that are not, care that they are not.

You don't need to complicate things. Sometimes it really is that simple. That's the wonderful thing about states of mind. You don't need habitual evidence to prove it to yourself. And really who cares what someone unimportant in the grand scheme thinks anyway.

              [–]1cover20 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This. And don't do beta shit. Have some fucking self-worth.

I was monk-mode for years until I figured out a bit of game and female psychology. But I was never beta. I am not some sort of raging alpha, I am not "built", etc.

But I value myself. So I was always repelled by these beta things some guys seem to do.

              [–]cheechawcheechaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what were the most important things you've learnt?

              [–]magicalbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pain is awesome to embrace if you use it correctly. It's like a focus that always reminds you of where you need to go by doing the work that you need to go. It's ultimate focus lies in knowing you hit rock bottom and everything else barely registers a dent.

The world isn't fair so use what you know to your advantage to make it work for you by bending the rules instead of trying to play by fantasies.

My understanding of this topic is about not letting things happen that you don't want to happen in your immediate surroundings, and creating things you need to create - at least creating room/space/understanding and support for the things you want (to create). Boundaries meaning 'I will not have you go any further than this point.' Does this make sense?

              [–]Drogoe 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I understand it abstractly, but what about in its real world application? I'm looking for concrete examples

              [–]OilyB 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Okay, let's give it a shot. Say for instance you like rap music and she likes classical. Every time you put on rap music she complains about it and puts on/asks to put on classical music. You have to have decided for yourself what's fair to your own standards. If that's 50/50 and she starts leaning towards 70 classic and 30 rap, you haven’t enforced your boundaries. At 40 classic and 60 rap you could smile and say "We're not going to allow no classical revolution here you know.." At 45 classic and 55 rap you could say "I can smell the revolution...". And 50/50 you could look her straight in the eyes and go "No babe, tonight the rap stays." And enforcing your boundaries would mean you don't let it slide past the 50/50 mark. Clothes, money, presents, sex, same story, anticipate when your boundary is getting approached and gently but firmly warn up front. Then hold the gate when you smell 'the revolution'. Is this more concrete for you?

Great post, especially refreshing to read after I had some interesting encounters on the dance floor last night. Just as you said, betas will shit test and they hate when you stand your ground (be it physically or mentally); just keep doing what you have to in order to enjoy yourself.

              [–]jaedekdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

              Yup. I'm definitely Betamax.

              [–]ColdEiric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extension of the previous point, narcissist alphas will try to AMOG you. Think of the obnoxious gym rat guys. If a guy is trying that kind of theatrical bullshit around you, he feels threatened by you. Unfortunately the brotherhood mentality does not extend too far out of the manosphere.

Men specifically will actually test you more than when you were beta, you will find they feel threatened/insecure by your masculinity that they lack, so they will throw more shit at you. Usually they do this passive aggressively. In a way, they are much like women. Funny how similar beta/omega men can be to women. They all characterise feminine behaviours.

You realise people, but women specifically, are always putting out subtle dominance tests to see how you will react. Your self-belief/frame will allow you to handle these fluidly and organically as and when they come, you don't need to read books or have preset plans to handle social situations.

All of these three are badges of honor for an alpha. If betas and women show that they fear you, and they try to shame you into the ranks, then you understand that this is what you're supposed to keep doing.

              [–]SonofLelith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good post. I think you mix jealousy and envy. Jealousy comes from fear of losing something that you have, where fear of losing your girl to another man is probably the most common reason for men, and envy is wanting something that someone else have.

              [–]PatrickIIDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also recommend /nofap to help those who are still looking at internet porn. My recommendation is: Stop giving a fuck about women but not to the total extent of a full-blown MGTOW, especially the bitches that you know that don't give a fuck about you. BECAUSE WOMEN HAVE NO SENSITIVITY TO MEN AND PEOPLE THAT FOLLOW THE CROWD HAVE TAKEN MEANINGS WAY OUT OF CONTEXT THESE DAYS.

              [–]slimcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RP can take a long time to actualise, if you've been here 6 months and nothing has happened yet, that's because you're still unlearning old habits. Maybe you're not lifting yet, but you've stopped doing drugs/alcohol so much and you've cut your video game time down. You're not making gains, but you're mitigating vices. You will have cheat days/relapse days, don't sweat it. Success is not linear. You have to deprogram before you can reprogram. Don't give up on yourself, keep reading and making baby steps...There is no excuse not to get your lazy ass off the computer chair. Keep on keeping on gentlemen.

This is the kind of "gentle but firm" mentality I love about this sub and why I keep coming back. It's brutally honest, but in a supportive way that encourages growth and personal improvement. I can think of no other place -- real or online -- that truly feels like a "men's space" like this one does. Thanks for the great post.

              [–]1Padre55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even SJW females do this stuff. Spent a weekend with one at the beginning "men are pigs!" by Sunday morning breakfast, and "I'm kidnapping you!" dinner, massages etc.

Wanted a BJ, she offered a friend to give it to me only if she could watch it all go down.

She could not understand why I wanted to leave. Alpha? Dunno, always considered myself a Sigma and find all of this a bit humorous.

Misogyny? No, just the female nature that I know all to well. To get to the about your business and enjoy the interludes that women provide. The durty lil secret is women really want NSA reltionships, watching beta guys send text after text and hearing the laughter at them merely re-enforced what I already knew.

              [–]TRPingBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You take responsibility for other peoples bullshit when it makes your life easier. Sounds counterintuitive on the surface level, but if being the fall guy earns you the favour you want/earns you the trust that needs to be earned with certain people, then it could be worth it to you. You evaluate all situations strategically and take calculated risks. On the flip, you do not take the wrap when it does not benefit you.

While this is true, a word of caution. Before you do this, you MUST learn to identify those who will not return favors you do for them. If you take the fall for those who wouldn't pay you back, you just become a doormat.

              [–]discardoursouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know you're alpha, when you don't need to meet an internet stranger's requirements to decide whether you are alpha or not.

              [–]alphbux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this post. A few of these points I'd self realised in the past few weeks.

I had one epiphany recently: if I was suddenly thrust forward in time or to another dimension where my friends, family, life etc no longer existed or had died I wouldn't be all that affected. I'd still exist. I'd have me. I'd make the best of it.

real players don't need something like TRP to tell them how to act, they just do it.

Yep. Dudes who ponder, "am I alpha" . . .are not fucking alpha.

Last night when I was talking with my friends, we got on to the topic of fighting. They kept saying "fighting doesn't solve anything. Why did you fight ____?"

I literally had to take out crayons and a canvas and illustrate the way life worked for them. I drew pictures and narrated:

Timmy is saying bad things about Billy to his friends. Billy talks to Timmy and tells him to stop. Timmy doesn't stop, so Billy has three options: He can 1. Sue him, 2. Fight him, or 3. Talk to the Principal.

Billy knows that it's not worth bringing Timmy to court, and he knows he'll get made fun of for telling on Timmy to the Principal. Billy goes up to Timmy and says "You either stop saying bad things about me or I will fight you."

Timmy doesn't want to stop saying bad things about Billy and Billy wants Timmy to stop, so Billy punches Timmy. Timmy falls onto the ground and Billy holds him down until Timmy agrees to stop saying bad things about him.

After I was done telling them about the way fighting works they thought about it for a minute and said "Yeah but fighting doesn't solve anything..." That's when I realized I should get new friends.

                [–]Oblech 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Why Billy can't let Timmy keep talking and just dont give a shit about it? Why would Billy even care about Timmy's words in the first place?

                [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Because maybe Timmy is slandering Timmy on a professional level. Sure, if it was Timmy saying a bunch of bad stuff to Billy then Billy could just walk away.

                [–]BadJokeHour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it's on a professional level then you can sue them. you are doing hoola hoops with logic now. fighting never solves anything, unless in self defense when you are literally being physically attacked. it is beta to start an altercation, it means on some level you are phased by what someone else has said

                [–]BadJokeHour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that if this happens at school, the system is designed to ruin Billy's life.

You have to rat others out to the adults these days. It's not like when I went to school.

At that point you pack it up and hope that people think "Wow, that guy should stop picking on a dude half his size..."

                  [–]Endorsed Contributordeepthrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jealousy can be useful as a tool to show you hidden insecurities which can then be overcome once brought to the surface. It can be channeled effectively as self-improvement occasionally if one so chooses.

                  [–]Yoda7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

                  • Your not sitting around wondering if your alpha. This shit sounds like a male version of Cosmo magazine.

Got banned for this comment. Wow RP mods. Thats some weak ass shit!

                  [–]the99percent1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

                  This is most excellent..

I cannot stress how much obtaining a degree in engineering and then proceeding to work in the field has shaped me into the 'alpha' male as highlighted by this post. Not many people can say they've worked in dangerous, inhospitable places where one mistake can be fatal. As a consequence of my experiences, I've learnt that I'm rare, valuable and ultimately, the prize.

That being said, I believe there are many other 'Alpha' type-cast. Women do fall for the artsy/less conservative style of 'alpha' too.. RP should acknowledge this as a completely legitimate way of being an attractive man.

The one thing that rings true. Be interesting and work to develop an interesting, well rounded life. Experience junkie rings true.

                  [–]7yphoid 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don't think video games are a bad thing. They're a hobby, and I'm personally very passionate about then. This is my life, ain't nobody gonna tell me what I can and can't enjoy.

                  [–]acdboone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find ways to let people know you are an Alpha. Talk about it a lot. In fact, the most Alpha thing to do is to run a blog about being Alpha.

                  [–]classerrr 1 point2 points  (11 children)

Why it seems most of the posts are concerned with people who've "been here 6 months and nothing has happened yet"? Why are we still saying all the same things? Alpha traits, spinning plates, good sleep, lifting...?

Why someone should tell someone else "If you're too pussy shit to workout in a gym or you can't afford the monthly subscription, get a weight set and workout at home."? If they don't do it, then bad for them, right? Why should you care? I really don't understand. I understand you want to help, perhaps, but don't they have enough resources to get past the initial level?

I am not saying these posts should not be written, I am just curious to read some more "advanced" stuff. I know you can write it. Who cares about the initiates?

                  [–]KillYourselfLiving 10 points11 points  (5 children)

                  Who cares about the initiates?

He does, the greatest leaders do, most successful businesses do.

Many people here have not internalized the Red Pill/Alpha way of life and even for the intermediate - advanced users this serves as a good reminder.

I read through it, nodded, didn't learn much new and still found this to be a great read.

This post really adds value to the community. The other posts usually revolve around hypergamy (like it has not been proven yet) or other useless topics like getting out of the anger phase etc.

                  [–]classerrr 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yes, yes, completely agree. I say it choosing bad words.

Of course it adds value to the community, and good reminders are always, yeah, good to read. I didn't want to say the opposite. No.

Just curious about reading some not-so-common stuff. Just this. And I know Illimitable can write it. Just eager to read.

                  [–]Movonnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

                  I am too.

He is just adpating to the audience here on TRP.

Most people here are new. Since we have more newcomers every month than people who turned red, people are less and less red with time and the sub is becoming less red.

That explains why there is mostly common and basic stuff published.

True, 100% red pillers only sees TRP as a lot of blue pill men waking up to the reality of RP, but still BP men. They are outnumbered and thus leaving this sub who can't bring them anything of value anymore (discussion with their peers).

                  [–]classerrr 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Side point: <great leaders> and <most successful businesses> care only because it is convenient for them to care. (And I don't want to imply anything with Illimitable.) Selfishness, you know. But it is actually good for society. If those <great leaders or <successful businesses> didn't have ambition and weren't pushed by selfishness they wouldn't have done what they did.

                  [–]KillYourselfLiving 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You apparently believe yourself to be an expert on TRP and life in general and stand above his post. I get it. I still recommend you to read redcamos' comment and think it over.

Anyway if human beings didn't posses a selfish ambition we would all still be living in trees.

                  [–]classerrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not stand in any position in respect of his post. Just because something exists I do not have to take any position upon it.

I thank you for you concern. Only one thing I can truly say I am capable of doing and it is reading. Don't need to worry about me.

                  [–]redcamo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There really isn't any more "advanced" stuff. Absorb the sidebar and you've taken the redpill, at least on the informative level. The advanced stuff is actually putting in the work to implement redpill changes into your life and gain the experience. Thats where most people get hung up. Including me.

The knowledge contained in TRP is extremely refreshing to the jaded beta who stumbles here but, as you've realized, theres only so much to it. The straight talk is addicting in the beginning but after so long you're just chasing the buzz of new truths out of habit. Then one day you realize this sub isn't returning any value for the time you spend in it anymore and has become just another place on the internet you use to procrastinate.

I'm completely talking to myself here, in case it wasn't obvious. OP's post is nothing new to me either so clearly I need to stop treading water here. I'm done posting until I have a field report to contribute.

                  [–]chagad 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Are you subbed to and Those are both on a pretty advanced level. Perhaps you could try to get into some circle, like RSD or perhaps you could read some oldschool RP like Anton Chekhov?

                  [–]classerrr 1 point2 points  (1 child)

He knows what I'm talking about when I say "advanced". Already read all his blog posts, all rollo posts, rollo book, all Chernovich posts, more than 60% heartise posts (he can get repetitive), most Roosh posts and first book, all kauser posts, all wallstreetplayboys posts, 4/7 the books wallstreet reccommended books, pook, donovan, all the books in the reading list of TRPBooks, all Greene, of course others I don't remember the title or the author in this moment. Other topics are much more broader and with better general terminology than TRP writings, I have to say.

                  [–]chagad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you've read everything there is to know. Perhaps you'd like to read some pure red pill 19th century Russian fiction? A guy posted some Chekhov last week and I've been hooked ever since.

You're willing to lead projects/people, you don't shy from responsibility.

As a renegade alpha/sigma, I fully disagree. If you want to get top self women you'd have to play that social status game but battling AMOGs and weak men is a waste of time.

                  Play underneath the drama.

                  [–]ProfessorRedPill 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You hold eye contact for longer with people. (confidence)

"Eye contact" and "staring" is a beta trait.

So many people fuck that up so often...

Why the fuck do people think that they are starting a staring contest with me? lol, wtf?

I can't count the number of people who tell me that you need to stare a dog down, because when the dog looks away, it means that you won a staring contest and the dog is giving up.

It's the opposite. The dog looks away because you are so non-threatening, that he doesn't even need to look at you.

Why does this "dominant eye contact" shit keep showing its head in TRP?

So... I have three whiny guys at a bar trying to have a staring contest with me??? And what do I do? I need to stare at all of them???? Or they "win??" lol.

Please, everyone, give this "staring contest" shit a rest. If I'm not having a staring contest with you, it doesn't mean that you just AMOGed me. lol. Maybe I just don't give a fuck about what you are looking at.

I like how you're "TRP endorsed" and you specifically negated the need to ask them. very cool article. intelligent. badass

                  You enforce your boundaries.

I'd like to read more about this. What's the difference between boundary enforcement and holding frame?

                  [–]Dark triad expert: - - [3 Points]IllimitableMan[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Boundaries are the external to frames internal.

Frame is not being affected internally, boundaries are things you will not stand for externally.

For example, if you went to punch me in the face and I wasn't able to block it but showed indifference to the punch, I held frame but didn't enforce my boundaries. My mental state is fine but my physical is not.

If you went to punch me and I stopped it dead whilst seeming unaffected, then I held frame and enforced my boundaries at the same time. My mental state is fine and my physical state is fine - this is the optimal.

Enforcing boundaries without holding frame is losing your shit and getting very angry, but blocking the punch. My physical state is fine, but my mental isn't.

                  Make sense?

                  [–]ChocolateMcCuntish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know your alpha when you don't have to worry about your social status

                  another one bites the dust

                  [–]Myisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy who is in progress of becoming an alpha, what does it mean that attraction is not negotiable. Can't think of example to understand this statement.

                  [–]all_systems_go1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpha is something you have or don't. I think alpha is just doing what you want when you want,no need for a long, complicated listy. Alpha just comes naturally to me,probably because my dad was just naturally very masculine in temperament.

I see so many conformist, ass-kissing,bending-over pansies who I know will never be as inherently masculine as I am. Too much of that nasty estrogen flowing through their veins. There was one funny guy I met like that. He resembled a girl, he huddle-gossiped like a stupid female dog too. He acted like a stupid, herd animal of a female dog in every single way it was a sight to be seen. His mom must've made a good anal plowing machine because her high level of femininity is definitely evident in him.

                  [–]ShagggyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good. I used to think that Alpha only means big muscles and deep voice (what I lacked). After reading TRP, I realized that I have already developed many Alpha mental traits without even knowing it. I also realized what I miss and have been working on it ever since. Not quite there yet, but I am happy I didn't have to start from zero.

                  [–]2RedPillSafe 0 points1 point  (1 child)

                  Culture is important.

We forget that the need for Alpha is a "reactionary" response to a world that rewards it. (the Matrix)

This was another profound realization I had just last night.

I'm "Germanic" (without going too much into it) and last night I was at the local bar and ran into another "Germanic" male acquiantance I had met a few weeks ago at that same bar.

One of the unique traits that Germans and Japanese have is this almost psychic "wolfpack" capacity of working like a singular unit. There were a couple of latino guys there and when me and this guy started our "wolfpack" behavior our collective dominance overwhelmed these guys. They then go get a guy who is just 23 years olds, but 6' 6" to come over to try to see what we do. Well, we just laughed and kept dominating the scene. Eventually it comes down to an arm wrestle (friendly) between the 23 year old and my acquaintance and my guy wins 2 out of three. (we're both in our 50's)

So here's that point where we offer for everyone to become unified.

But latino culture doesn't do "team" play. So even though this guy buys everyone a couple of rounds of shots I realize:

"These guys do not respect my acquaintance... and never will." (and are never going to be team players)

The Alpha we describe here is the man who is more the solo actor and less the team player.

Think of World Cup Soccer... Germany plays a team game... Brazil plays an individuals game.

One could argue that all Brazilians are "Alpha", but if Germany wins by teamwork what does that say?

                  Red Pill is about truth.

The team can always beat the individual. It's only when the team loses it's ability to stay cohesive that things fall apart. Men in war are highly bonded to their fellow soldiers.

As I see it the Feminists WANT men divided and scrambling to compete against each other. That's how they win.

So this whole thing has many levels...

There was nothing beta about how the German team played and nothing that contradicts OP. You're describe a different, "chest beating" sort of alpha concept, as a strawman I guess, that is not what OP says at all.

While there is nothing wrong with using fuck and shit from time to time I agree.

Make sure you find the nice path between walking around like you have a stick in your ass and sounding like a high schooler.

Yeah, I'm in the infantry, and it's kind of the vocabulary here. But of all the RP role models I've seen in my army career, the best of the best never swear. You don't hear them say "man up you fucking pussy". It's only the insecure ones who say those kinds of things.

If people really won't accept /u/IllimitableMan's stuff because he swears, all the better. We don't need people who get offended by words here.

                    [–]ilovemagicmush 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I'm not offended, it just sounds stupid. Ruins the message...

                    [–]Ralt 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Quantify stupid and we can have a conversation, because it wasn't stupid to me. His word choice didn't ruin the message for me, maybe the real issue here is you.

Good ideas are good ideas just like 24k Gold is 24k Gold. It doesn't matter if it comes from a hobo on the side of the street, or wrapped in fecal matter. If you're the one who is unable to identify the value within any given thing that's your problem, not ours, and not /u/IllimitableMan's.

It's a point of pride here on /r/TRP that we are able to say what we want, how we want, and when we want without self-censoring ourselves. If that is how /u/IllimitableMan wants to write, god bless. If you want to submit high quality posts without profanity, good for you, get on it.

I'm sure many of you know this but still: I think Mr. Kipling summed it up with utmost elegance:

IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

                    How to know you're alpha:

You're probably in prison. (Society is a contract between betas and women)

                    [–]1cover20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low IQ alpha maybe, who can't handle the volatility of the role. As someone said, high IQ alphas are billionaires, or get what they want in other respects.

You should really elaborate on this...

                    [–]foldpak111 -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

Regarding the deep voice thing. Working out is the foundation of a deeper voice, but you'll want to supplement it with deep breathing exercises and humming.q

                    [–]sociallyshyredditor 3 points4 points  (1 child)

how does working out promote a deeper voice?

does having more muscle around the neck lower your tone or something?

Screaming also helps. Its why military instructors at the various basic trainings sound the way they do. When you train instructors, you make them scream until they lose their voice... Then make them keep screaming while calling them a pussy. After three or four iterations of losing your voice you'll noticeably sound deeper.

This is why I love football. I can scream at my TV and not worry about the neighbors, cuz its football Sunday.

I stopped reading after the words "don't care" so I'll understand if you stop reading half way through. I've edited and spell checked this as much as I can but if you don't relate than you don't relate.

And I'm not posting to shame somebody into being "more alpha" and I'm not here to manipulate anybody's thoughts or emotions for them. I am posting this sort of testimony because what I read of your post did not highlight real power. Only a bunch of rules to be followed. So here goes my theory.

People act alpha when their mothers loved them with enough appropriate physical affection that they don't have body shyness and their fathers stayed out of their way toward success. Otherwise it's just an act of manipulation that lasts as long as energy allows. (Hence coke heads destroying the environment with unsustainable energy consumption culture).

Anybody that calls themselves alpha here can be kidnapped, drugged and destroyed mentally. Pride comes before a fall, my nigga, and a bully will always find a bigger bully.

You can act alpha all you want, as long as you're trying to trick other robots into treating you like your a pharaoh by acting like an alien god, and as an alpha wolf you can get things from people who are using you as a spear head. But try to use that "alpha"-ness to actually change the world and you will soon be introduced to real power. Power which many call evil but I call a deep appreciation for weakness and "beta"ness.

TRP, and I've been trying to figure out why until now, has been infiltrated. Obviously, as everything that has the potential take away slaves from their slave owners is infiltrated, especially on the internet.

And now I've figured out why. It's artificialness, it's manipulative-ness, is being amplified to hurry you along to that isolated and apathetic state where you are no longer a threat to the status quo.

I tell you this for several reasons one is because there is something a little more loneliness-inducing than eating alone. And that's eating with a puppet, violently addicted to your hand inside them. Only after experiencing this I thought something like "hmmm, maybe the satanists have a point". And this is after a long (time being an illusion) youth of being that one Christian child so Christian even churches couldn't stand how much of an iconoclast (idol basher) I'd become. I've been kicked out of every church and Christian Summer camp my adult self chose to enter.

I still believe in Jesus because I've come to understand Him as like unto an avatar for Gravity, and chose to believe that He is a real being born in flesh and blood because that is the way my born from woman body can relate to I Am That I Am.

I say all this because your post is so comprehensive that it's tricked me into thinking you might be able to parse all I've just written, and that your readers will be able to as well.

When a being in flesh and blood taps into omnipotence it's scary. It's very scary. (It was also a tremendous relief and a lot of other things)

The best way I can describe it is that feeling I had when I watched the television show Sliders and the guy made a portal to another dimension but because of the infinitesimal nature of "parallel realities" he couldn't get back home. That twilight zone alienation. An older example, one that encourages me to think that other people have experiences something similar to this in the past is the story of King Midas who wished he could turn everything into gold. And since I don't want to talk about Jesus and end with a godless fable I'll leave you with this:

                            Philippians 2:5-11 New International Version

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
